Space Poems
Space poems display my use of multimodal creation as a means of attaining a sense of joy, balance, and acceptance, thus also aiming to bring a similar experience for the viewer. A guiding purpose for my work is to engage my audience’s curiosity for an equal exchange of delight and perhaps even introspection. The “space poem” is a concept I developed in the 2014-2015 year and have been experimenting with since. I have defined this form as a poem that "requires an active awareness of multiple modes while one is composing a poem, such that these modes (e.g. movement, depth, color, language, film, etc.) are allowed to influence each other and shape each other's content. The end result aims to be a poem in which the content of each individual mode depends on the other modes for its meaning in the final product."
